What We’re Watching

Blast

Blast will be released on mainnet later this month, and while this upcoming L2 has received its fair share of criticisms, it will still be a massive launch worth paying attention to. Blast has already kicked off its “Big Bang” project competition, and with roughly $1.5B TVL in bridged assets, there will be plenty of opportunities for those who pay attention. While the majority of this TVL is likely mercenary and chasing airdrops/yields, we can expect Blast to have some sort of incentivization program to retain TVL, as well as ecosystem rewards. There will be plenty of token incentives to farm, so there should be good opportunities for the farmers as well. Even with the negative headlines around Blast, we’ve already seen dozens of teams announce their upcoming launch on the new chain, which is a massive factor in a new L1s/L2’s success.

So without further ado, here are some projects that you should be watching going into Blast mainnet.

Juice - (A disruptive Cross-Margin DeFi account to maximize points and yields)
Thruster - (Blast’s core liquidity and fair launch DEX layer)
Hyperlock - (A yield & meta governance protocol built on Thruster and optimized for Blast)
Particle - (Permissionless leverage trading protocol for any digital asset)
Tornado - (The first Blast-native bot to trade and snipe tokens)
Orbit - (Introducing Orbit - The native liquidity protocol on Blast)
Blitz - (Your favorite orderbook DEX is coming to Blast)

Starknet

While we’re talking about L2s, it’s also worth mentioning Starknet, which should have its token TGE/airdrop sometime this month. While L2s like Arbitrum and Optimism have exploded in growth over the past year, we’ve yet to see the Starknet ecosystem pick up any meaningful traction. This is likely a combination of technical issues as well as an overall lack of attention, but this could finally change with the incoming STRK airdrop which will be a large capital injection into the ecosystem. Unfortunately for us, there aren’t many ways to position ahead of time outside of a couple of tokens such as RBX (Starknet-based perp DEX) and LORDS (Starknet GameFi), but there are some interesting Starknet airdrop opportunities in Nostra, Ekubo, and Avnu.

Again, while the Starknet ecosystem has been desolate since launch, this could change with most of the technological issues smoothed out as well as a massive ecosystem airdrop. These Starknet tokens could be worth monitoring going into the next few weeks, but as always, do your own research.
