What We’re Watching
Solana Ecosystem
We've talked about Solana in the past, and it's becoming increasingly obvious that it’s here to stay. While most alt L1s have faded to irrelevancy, Solana has managed to maintain a resilient community while building out a unique ecosystem of applications that continues to garner more attention. It’s no secret that the SOL token has greatly benefitted over the past few weeks, rallying over 2x in the same time majors moved 30-50%, and its strength looks primed to continue. While one can gain exposure to this growth simply through the SOL token, we’ve started to see interest flood to Solana’s on-chain ecosystem.
Solana’s ecosystem has been critiqued for being desolate in the past, but this could change as we start to see a wave of Solana-native protocols airdropping their tokens to users. We’ve already seen tokenless protocols like Jupiter, Margin, Jito, Pyth, and others announce their airdrop programs, and this could ignite an alt season within the ecosystem similar to what we saw earlier this year on Arbitrum.
Solana alts have started to pick up in anticipation of this, mainly led by BONK (memecoin), SHDW (DePin), FLUXB (TG Bot), and AURY (Game-Fi). We’ll be keeping a close eye on this ecosystem going forward, as traders chasing SOL beta and a wave of long-awaited airdrops could propel the whole ecosystem to new heights. It
Parallel
The PRIME token by Parallel has been another outperformer over the past few weeks, growing as a “blue chip” within the on-chain gaming ecosystem. With open-beta coming in a few weeks and various in-game PRIME sinks, Parallel seems well positioned to capitalize on the growth of GameFi.
For those who are looking for a closely related play, Paragons DAO is a gaming-focused project and is the biggest holder of Parallel-related assets.
PDT can be seen as a higher-beta play on the growth of Parallel as well as the general on-chain gaming ecosystem, and could be a decent bet going forward. There’s also merit in sticking to the leader (i.e. PRIME), or looking for other bets within the GameFi ecosystem (ILV, MC/BEAM, IMX, etc…).
